Description Edit (1st September) I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has favourited this drawing or added it to their collections. It's really appreciated but I can't thank you all personally. All comments will however be answered.

This is my drawing of a pretty famous photograph which was taken in 1909. It is of a Southern Cheyenne called Wolf Robe. I had drawn my first version of this is 2004 and decided it was time to have another go. I did this portrait in the evenings, when the light was not right for doing my big tattoo project, so it took longer to finish. I reckon it must have taken in excess of 30 hours. Done in graphite (2H through to 6B) on Winsor & Newton bristol board, A3 size. Frame added after scanning. The technique used on the skin was circulism. My very first attempt at circulism and I really like it for realistic male skin.

Thank you, it's the first tme I have tried circulism and it really works for male skin, in particular older skin. I'm pretty happy overall with how this one came out.

It definately does. I'm ashamed to say, I had never heard the term, and I am now wondering how different some of my drawings would be had I have used it. Thank you for teaching me something!

has an excellent tutorial on unblended skin using circulism. There is no need to be ashamed, I hadn't heard of the technique until a couple of months ago.

I really don't feel the quality of this is suitable for the intermediates folder of Graphite-Gods so have been forced to move it.

Ya wee tadpole ye! Your cards marked pal.
My stomach hit my feet until I checked out where you had moved it to. In all seriousness, and pay attention here 'cos I don't get all serious too often, thanks very much for that, it means a lot. But your cards still marked.

Is that some kinda Celtic threat? I thought it might cause you to do a little bottom burp.

Anyway, now I can say what I really think. It's completely stunningly stunning with a hint of stunning added. I love it and will probably spend the next few days looking at it with envy.

Could be, could be. A very mild one though, if you had really upset me I would have told you to "awa an' bile yer heid" But since you have been so very nice about my drawing, I forgive you and will not bottle my little bottom burp and post it to you as I originally intended.
