Description My shots of Prague and Czech portraits

A guard... smiling...

That lovely guard, from the Prague Castle, accorded to me this shy little smile.

Before me, a group of stupid tourists were photographing themselves with him.
Some minutes after, the man being let in peace by those giggling girls, I couldn't resist to make a portrait of him. So I went to see him, and asked if I could take a photo. I knew that of course he couldn't answer, but I asked anyway; and I could feel a slight nod from him, besides his smile.

It's nice that you actually went over to this man and asked him for a photo.
Perhaps it's just me but I think you can see the appreciation for this little gesture right in his eyes.

It's great that you saw the person and not only the motive. ^^

Oh, really wonderful!
I live in Prague, relatively close to the castle, but it's been quite long since I last went there... But I used to go there quite often with my parents when I was little. I don't know why, but I've always felt a bit intimidated by those guards

I like how the stripes in the background contrast with his strictness. It's like a fun and strict attitude clashing.

I think we passed two guard towers on my trip in Prague. I managed to get to see the changing of the guard at the castle on top of the hill. I think they were new guys because they were nervous and jittery. The straight faces they kept were intense though.

These guards are amazing and very strict. We have them outside the king's castle in Sweden and I have a lot of respect for their jobs.
