This is really, really cool. I love how the ribbon wraps around you and goes out. (:

This is just my opinion, but to me, I don't feel the emotion of complete relief. It feels like you just started to (or maybe...decided to?) finally let go. Not as in give up, but as in move on and leave the hurt. I think your title of this piece, "Shedding", is really accurate because you are in the process of getting the pain out, rather than it being in the past tense where you are already relieved. Great job on that!

At first I didn't like how the ribbon didn't look shiny, but now I think it really adds to the piece. To me its like the personality of this emotion. Not perfectly new and shiny and only about looks, but a more relaxed texture and color that is about what’s on the inside... If you maybe know what I mean?

And the folds of the sheet add to the character of this photo. They tell me that you aren't perfect, and so there will be folds and wrinkles in your life/ past.

(When I say "you", I refer to the person's feet in this photo and her personality) I hope this critique makes sense to you... I am not a common critiquer or very skilled in this type of photography, so I hope this seems like a fair critique to everyone. But great job! There is really nothing I can think to change or add. I love it! (:

You don't have to be skilled in photography to 'feel the image.'

Thank you for the feedback, as always. I really enjoyed reading your interpretation of this, it made me smile. (:

There is a bit of deeper meaning in this picture to me, but I'm not exactly sure how to translate it from thoughts into words. That's why I like photography, it speaks for me.

Again, thank you very much (:

No problem ^^

hahaaa you made me smile too by saying you smiled. (:
and I think I understand what you mean about how photography speaks for you. It speaks in every one of your photos, and I get it now.

And once again, you're welcome. (:

Thanks! I feel like the folds in the sheet to the left are distracting :/

No, actually I find them very, what's the word, dynamic???
They kind of draw the eye in towards the feet and add a subtle contrast off neat, vertical lines to the red swirls of the ribbon.

I know this doesn't go along with the theme ... but the first emotion I felt seeing this photo was one of relief. It was as if all negative energy was leaving the body of the model ... and I love that about it

That is actually exactly what I was trying to capture! (:
