A diverse young cast of genetically gifted "deviants" struggle to escape their island prison, uncovering dark mysteries in the process.

A unique mashup of super heroes and the survival/horror genre, Deviants is an original comic concept detailing the efforts of a ragtag group of genetically gifted teenagers--labelled "Deviants"--to escape Hyperion, a research and detention facility designed to house and study them. Told with wit, drama, and suspense, Deviants #1 serves as a self-contained entry point for a planned nine issue miniseries (to be Kickstarted as a serial or in one graphic novel should this project prove successful). Deviants #1 features two main characters--the Korean-American Shift, a brash young man with the power to take on the physical properties of almost any material he touches, and Panacea, a mysterious African-American girl with a troubled past and the power to heal wounds and diseases. Deviants takes a character driven approach to the superhero genre, exploring the friction between characters of differing ideals and backgrounds, how having super powers can make life is easier in some respects and harder in others, how fragile innocence is, among other themes.
