The never-ending painting is finally complete! We laughed, we cried, we got frustrated, we stress-ate our feelings... but it's done. I'm off to the beach this weekend so this monster is a load off my shoulders.

Guys, I'm rarely happy with my own work but I'm so damn proud of this one. It's not perfect but it looks like the image I held in my head the whole time. The chiaroscuro style is something I love in equine art so it was an opportunity to try it myself. And it was HARD at this size. Now I remember why I like tiny paintings. But after all I'm a sucker for a chestnut horse!

Again, this was commissioned by a friend of her husband's childhood horse. It's an anniversary gift for him. I can't post it on FB until husband has received it, but I can certainly show you guys!

And now I'm off to the beach to spend the weekend rewarding myself
