Description
Phuong-thao Ngô, a young French woman attending university in Paris, had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of one Alice Lo, who was apparently part of an unfathomably wealthy family from Hong Kong. When Phuong-thao's school career didn't go as planned, Alice magnanimously offered her a job at her father's company, where she would make quite a bit of money doing relatively little. The catch, however, was that once Alice had finished school she would return home to Hong Kong and Phuong-thao would have to go with her. Phuong-thao's parents were naturally skeptical about her having to move halfway across the globe, leaving behind her entire support network, but having no viable career prospects at home she apprehensively agreed.
Unfortunately, the "job" she was offered never existed, and she was instead made a live test subject for experimental Wisteria Biotechnology products. Phuong-thao's left arm, legs, and several organs were removed and replaced at Alice's behest, and later her right arm and right eye would be replaced as well. Phuong-thao was made Alice's personal bodyguard, with a number of intrusive measures taken to ensure she would remain docile and obedient. Her parents have attempted to search for her, but they have little recourse unless they want to go up against a company that essentially owns a 10% stake in the entirety of Asia. That, and Ms. Lo's apparent ties to organized crime...
Phuong-thao had resigned herself to her fate of being the personal plaything of a megalomaniac, until she crossed paths with one Maddie Minkoff, who felt a personal connection to her, considering Phuong-thao is how Maddie could have ended up if Dr. Bradford was evil. Ms. Lo is, in fact, so evil that she unites Maddie and a washed-up ex-cop with a vendetta against organized crime named Sihua Jian in wanting to take her down.
I haven't written anything about Green-chan despite the fact she's existed for over 2 years. The problem with wanting to write darker material is that if it's not executed well it can end up being funny (See: 13 Reasons Why Season 4) which is why I mostly stick to making jokey comics, that way if my skills aren't up to par then it's fine because it's not being taken seriously. That's on top of the other big problem with writing in general being that it takes an absurd amount of effort in order to make something good.
