This is all kinds of awesome.

Awesome wings
awesome pose
awesome bird
aahh.. some other things too.

They stretch unpredictably; neck, wings, legs,
and fold all those parts that stretch from an elegant immensity
into a body that's no bigger than a football.
The Snowy Egret is wonderfully unusual. Also goofy, rarely still,
and seem always to be pantomiming either, "Ta-da!" or, "Thank you very much."
Then they suddenly Elvis.

That is a very profound description.
I'm all shook up.

I bet the egret would like it, if you told him, or gave him a fish.

Damn tootin'! I always thank the participants as I depart.
A guy I've always admired said very clearly, "Never cheat."
In this context, the offer of fish would be cheating.
You are, of course, absolutely right, however.

Agreed, raw fish is what they always eat.
It would be considered an inconsiderate gift.

I think maybe a nice refined recipe might really do the trick;
something like Pan Seared Scallops with Pepper and Onions in Anchovy Oil would be my recommendation.

Probably a delicious response to an overriding principle, "Never Cheat".

I'm not sure which I'm more impressed at....the fleeting moments you capture, or your ability to not post the not-so-good shots. I think there is gotta be a couple of them hiding somewhere!

The ratio is about 11/62,326 at the moment, but it's only 09:33; hope springs eterna.

Great Shot!

What do you shoot with?

Thank you! A Nikon D300 and 300 f/4 AF. Light enough for walkabout, although I'd much rather be sedentary.
