There’s a short bit of lore here, for if you’re interested in my storytelling. Tho, I’m no writer, so it might be a bit “Ech!” to read.

A prominent figure in ancient texts - a half-bred who took up arms and rallied the races against the oppressive Dar’ban Empire. Her courage, intelligence and charisma allowed her to win the trust of the other races, and together defeat the Dar’ban forces in an all-out attack that their empire could never recover from.

However, during the aftermath of the war, certain leaders of the other races grew jealous of the charismatic Lynnara, who had married the desert king and therefore assumed the official role as queen of the Jar’kahl. They feared she would push the desert folk as the ruling race and merely replace the Dar’ban as supreme rulers of the continent.

Her love for wine was well-known and during the 10th anniversary of the Dar’ban defeat, she was sent some from each of the alliance races.

During that same night, she fell ill, and it was quickly established she had been poisoned. Many spellcasters used their knowledge to try and cure or slow down the effect of the poison, while the king desperately sought out the other races for a cure. He even send his brother-in-law, Lynnara’s older brother, to directly address the clans for a cure in a timely manner. However, he, nor his bodyguards, ever returned.

After weeks had passed, Lynnara’s life-force grew so weak she was barely able to stay conscious - she asked for the spell slowing the poison to be dispelled, that she may finally end her suffering. Albeit heartbroken and hesitant, the king allowed them to cease the spell’s function. With her final breath, she asked her husband to not act irrationally, knowing him too well. He promised - but as the last breath of her life left her lungs, he cried out and quickly fell into despair. He locked himself into his chamber with his dead wife’s body, holding a vigil over her, hoping she would wake up again, not able to accept her fate. However, after weeks had passed, and the king finally left his chambers, the leftovers of his queen, burned to ashes, stored inside a urn that he would keep on himself forever.

He ordered all Jar’kahl to return to the throne city if they were still loyal to the crown, and made preparations to remove the city from the face of the earth by hiding it using a set of towers known as the Shrouding Prism. Therefore, the once flourishing trading nexus, visited by all the races to exchange goods and keep their commerce and economy running, disappeared from the map.

The other races, the Lai’ban and Faeles to the south, the Dar’ban and Equinas to the west, and the Lizargon scattered all across the continent, were cut off from their former trading routes, unable to obtain the goods they once had no problems acquiring. They started to fight one another, blaming each other for what had happened. Hatred had filled the hearts of those Lynnara hoped to bring together for a long-lasting peace, her death undoing everything she worked for in life…
