A new character that I was inspired to do after reading Miho-Chan;s journal. Anyway this Kurenai Kanashimi, if the translation thingy worked her name should mean "Crimson Sorrow", four years of failing Japanese teaches only so much. Kurenai is a typical spy/mercenary whatever you want to call her. I gave her nightsticks as weapons since they don't seem to be used as much, and they can connect to become a nunchuks(I think its cool anyways). Tell what you think of her.Related content

Eeeeehn...I dunno about the Japanese. I mean, people are especially sensitive/quick to call you on it if you use the language without the chops to back it up. Something about the name just doesn't seem right (like it should be Kanashi instead of Kanashimi), and this could blow up in in your face.
However! I DO like the look of the character, and her style - we need more action-oriented villainesses, I mean, I love slinky and seductive as much as the next dude, but variety IS nice. So what if you were to make it part of the character? An in-joke, if you will?
IE - It's not her REAL name, she picked it out herself. And any actual Japanese people might call her out on it, resulting in stuttering backpedalling and red-faced insistence that Who Cares What You Think. *shrug* Just an idea, whether it'd work or not depends on how "serious" the continuity she's set in will be.
As to the drawing? Well done, cute and interesting. I didn't see her little bowtie until JUST now. Her sense of style is rather unique, and I'm curious to see more of her.

I understand your concern with the name. I am half asian on my moms side but I might as well be a full white boy. My four years of highschool Japanese were not the most productive.

You got to learn Japanese in HIGH School? Man, lucky, I had to wait 'till my second (and also unproductive) year in "Higher Learning". I learned...enough to start to make sense of it, in the end. I've tried to keep in practice, to not much avail. (I'd had a similar concern with my ninja story, actually. I thought of slipping more Japanese into Shizuka's dialogue, seeing as it's her native tongue and all, but ultimately it felt too forced.)
