Almost a year after To Columbus . This isn't the end of car and city subject matter, but I think I'm done with the scribbles for now, at least in paint. It was worth a try for the series I've been doing, but I miss my round brushstrokes.Acrylic on canvas, 30"x20".

They can be difficult at times, but certainly not impossible. It's all about practice and proportions, which really applies to anything.

You may want to reconsider losing the scribbles.
I think it makes a very dynamic interesting painting,
turning the mundane, like traffic, into the spectacular.
I'm not a bit surprised that this sold.

I am definitely keeping the scribbles around, though I think they've evolved in comparison to this older piece. I try to fit them in to the scenery now, such as in Fit As Ever, rather than tacking them on in random areas as seen here and in 37 and 62.

I like all the sporadic movement lines. I don't know what's more amazing, how good at color choice you are or the fact this isn't an oil painting. xD

As one of my professors said, when acrylic paint was first developed it was nicknamed "magic paint" since it could be used thick like oils or in thin layers like watercolors, plus it dries so quickly. Once I found out I could work acrylics like oils, I never went back!

Thanks! I'll be sure to experiment more with acrylic. I've never liked it much but I think it's because I use such thin layers.

If u know the very important artist "Monet" (who created the impressionism method) then I know what u r talkin about, but if not then he's too sorry for dying before seeing those lovely artworks.
