Damn good Hodag scatha.
Ive only seen this creature on that new scooby doo incorporation, but i have little knowledge of the actual creature/myth.

NP!
Trust me unless you want to see 1/2 an episode involving teen drama (in some cases even when the monster was attacking) the show is best avoided. However, the episode with the Hodag had it as an attraction at a traveling side show. The show said it was from Wisconsin. But other than that, nothing else was mentioned about it. Sort of disappointing.

Ahh, ok. Not like good ol' Scooby Doo, then, where the monster is the main thing?
Anyway, there's a good page on Wiki about the Hodag: [link]
Then there are these two books online.
Henry. H. Tryton's version: [link]
William T. Cox's version: [link]
Quite a few differences in the Critters between them. It's interesting. Note the particular difference in the two Hodags. The Cox version is weird and I don't really care for it.

I've heard of this creature a few times, is it always green?

Not always, but typically it's a green or greeny-blue. At least according to the statue in Rhinelander, WI and pictures.
