that moment when you realize the Hound actually has a kind soul hidden under the chain mail and the scars, and the bloody sword...

Too cute and very essential to their awkward relationship.

I missed this scene in TV show, it gives both characters depth. I like your portrayal.

I was so sad that they cut this scene from the book, because I thought that it was one of the most touching ones. The whole first book is full of murder, fights, plotting and a lot of blood, and this scene was so small and calm, yet lay a fundament for such a strang and strong bond between Sansa and the Hound. Also the story of Sandor and Gregor showed the great differences between them: Gregor is a loyal and blessed knight but cold, brutal and bloodlusty, and Sandor is a man who has the appearance of a beast, but is a good and kind man on the inside, who looks after Sansa in his own way.
Your painting isn't only a tribute to that scene, but also adds to it with its beauty. The background is very simple and therefore you make the focus smaller and draw us even more towards Sansa and Sandor. You have drawn his so well, like the heavyness of the story doesn't only weighs on him physically, but also mentally (which it does of course: the hound is to this day still frightened of fire). You did his face/scar good too, with attention to his hair.
And Sansa looks amazing too: she has this softness and kindness over her which is her own and which she shows to everyone she meets (and makes her the naive girl we got to know in Book 1, after that she starts to grow and becomes more awesome ). Yet she holds herself up with the pose of a real lady, and even if she isn't afraid of him anymore, she is still a bit hesitant towards him because of his strenght and because she is unsure of his reaction on her comment. It's this great constrast that you have drawn not only between the two, but also IN the two: they both want to show affection to each other, but aren't sure how or they do it in the wrong way.
Still, I'm positive that they can learn to grow and understand each other more, especially since they are the only ones at Kingslanding who have a relationship which isn't based on wanting to backstab the other and use the other for his/her own good. They are the Wolf and the Hound in the Lion's den, and they are both determinated not to get crushed beneed the pressure of the Lannisters.
WHAAAAA, I LOVE THOSE TWO SO MUCH! I have finished the first two books and I have seen the first season on TV, and although this scene wasn't on TV, the trailers for season 2 promise more interaction between these two (and that also appears in the books: for example, during the riot of Joffrey), so I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them. Hopefully George Martin will keep a painful or horrible death away from them for a long, LONG while...let's pray to that
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, for this wonderfull, deep and meaningfull drawing. I think this is my favorite so far in the Sansa/Sandor-category. To end with the words of the Hunger Games: may the odds be ever in their favor!

I just read this scene!! I'm so behind in reading these books I'm ashamed but I adored the tv series so much that I'm using my quick reading skills to get caught up before season 2. I absolutely love Sandor and Sansa scenes!

One of the best Hounds I've ever seen drawn. : O Can I say that I love the little dogs on his tunic. XDD Anyways, an awesome pic, Sansa looks perfect and love the background in all its simplicity. It creates quite a sad atmosphere. very beautiful! :--)

Amazing atmosphere, amazing scene and amazing art style as well. I like Sansor's pose. And Sansa...Sansa seems so beautiful, with such a nice expression on her little face. Gosh, I'm just too much San/San shipper XD Brilliant picture, anyway.

I was toooo mad that they cut that scene! It was my favourite of all the first book. But the producers said they were going to emphasize the Sandor/Sansa relationship and that they definitely didn't overlook it. I hope so for the next season!

I was so mad that this part was cut... it was when I (and everyone I guess xD) realized Sandor wasn't that bad. So making Littlefinger tell it was just ugh!
This drawing is beautiful, Sansa looks so delicate and pretty... beautiful coloring, style, the positions... love it!

lol, I imagine everything as a Disney film XDDD But yeah, the sex scenes....hahahh they'd definitely be made even more uncomfortable.

even more uncomfortable is right, most are slightly disturbing to begin with. You know incest, thirteen year-old girls that kind of thing.

Thank you so much! Yes, yes I like that....pathetic/gargoyly XD
I really hope that's what they're doing with Season 2. Because really, he's one of the only people who shows Sansa any sort of kindness/humanity. And they have to start developing his character pretty soon. Fingers crossed anyways.

This is hands down, my favorite moment in the books. I reread them multiple times before I continued on. This is what made me stop hating Sansa, and when I realized these books were about more than just good good guys and bad bad guys. EXCELLENT job.

She's referring to Sandor Clegane, also called the Hound, the little brother of Gregor ^^
Also, this illustration is fantastic !

Gregor. He's not a true knight--or, he IS a knight, but he's a cruel and evil animal of a man and not at all what a knight's supposed to be.

Ser Ilyn Payne is just a Grade-A Scary Man. He makes Sandor Clegane look cute and cuddly by comparison.
