But then...My life is made of art. It's everywhere I look. New things are being created all the time, new ideas pop up everywhere. I get down on myself for not trying harder to be a part of that. I forget sometimes, that success doesn't bring happiness. I need to have fun and let the work be whatever it is...good or bad.
I'm trying to learn. Trying to focus on the love.

This is the biggest true on earth. Sometimes I just look at all these artist here in DA and their miilions of watchers and pageviews and I just get angry with my art and start to think it sucks, THATs when I start to make real crap drawings. Art should be fun !

So true. Sometimes we feel discouraged when not trying harder and not giving enough effort and being lazy about doing something that you want and love.

Okay, yeah; This made me grow a warm smile.
There are times for me when I just suddenly lose my motivation to draw anything. During then, I would feel like I never even want to draw an eye or a circle again because it would feel so "tedious" and depressing. Occasionally, I'd probably be occupied with either writing or just school work. I mean, I've had "artist blocks" that lasted for close to nine months, were I would feel like I wasn't cut out to be in the art industry.
But then something hits me - the whole WikiLeaks fiasco being the most recent example - something that makes me pick up my pencil and start doing small doodles on the nearest piece of paper I can get my hands on. I might be discouraged by the results of my first drawings after such a long time, but I keep at it for reasons unknown, and eventually, I get into an "artistic groove" again, one where I find myself sketching whatever comes to mind. Heck, it's not really shocking to see me start drawing things in the back pages of my school notebooks just because I felt like doing it.
Anyway, I'm gonna say this right now: It's very hard - for me, at least - to focus just on the whole "loving what I do" part sometimes. I don't really focus on "success," per se, but I do think a little too much on my "skills." I look at some artwork here from people around my age, possibly younger, and see how skilled they are compared to what I can do. Not exactly a confidence booster, I'll say. It really isn't easy to just focus on the "loving" aspect of art, especially with the amount of talented artists I'm surrounded by here.
But don't think for a second that I wouldn't want them, though; They're also a good source of inspiration for me. People like *inklou , *shilin , and `yuumei are probably some of my favorite artists to follow and gain tidbits from, in fact.
MY POINT, THOUGH. I love seeing this. I don't think you know how much of a confidence boost this just gave me. It's simple, but that's sometimes that's the best way to get a message across, eh? It's a definite

Wow, I think of this everytime I create something dreadful and hate myself.
Deviants! Everyone has made rubbish in the past, don't get yourself upset about it! We all love art, that's why we're on here, just keep pushing and trying.
