It just takes too long.It's so frustrating, that slow, bitter kind of heartbreak
it's not the fast, startling, almost satisfying kind of heartbreak
just a flash and a high-pitched shatter
you can almost hear the crunch as the shards hit the floor
and then you've got an excuse to rain on yourself for awhile
you're a whole new person when you come back to it
This heartbreak is different.
It's just a tiny chink, hammer and chisel
and the cracks start to spread, they spread deep
but nothing comes apart
it just stays together, wretched, acidic
the storm brews and freezes the air without shedding a drop
you have to wait for the heat to rise, melt it all back together
It just takes too long.
