Description
The Wingull of Auzz, very abundant over water and maybe on beaches too.
Airfry are skittish pokemon that are prey for a number of aerial pokemon and, if too close to the ocean surface, aquatic pokemon too. Because of this they form vast schools that move together in a manoeuvre known as a murmuration to confound predators and avoid becoming a target.
Undulair are less vulnerable to predation and form looser, smaller flocks that tend to stay closer to the ocean surface so that they can dive under for small prey such as shrimp and fish. They periodically rise and seek out cloud cover, using the moisture to replenish their gills and keep their skin wet.
Mantair are rarely seen and typically inhabit cloud banks, sifting through the mists for microscopic animals and pollen. Surprisingly heavy, with gentle movements it isn’t fully understood how they remain airborne and it’s thought they manipulate the air around them as opposed to using powered flight. They can often be seen with small bird pokemon perched on their bodies, picking at parasites.
Hybocane are terrific aerial predators that stalk the cloudy skies above Auzz’s oceans. Typically soaring high until they spot potential prey they make for any cloud big enough to hide them and ambush prey from there. Eating on the wing is difficult without talons to hold prey and so they typically target smaller prey that they can swallow whole but can still cause immense damage to larger creatures too.
