A kenning meaning "Ullr's ship" refers to Shields, there are two possible reasons for this, the first being that since early skis resembled shields and Ullr being the god of skis, while the second idea is that stories of Ullr crossing the ocean or at least sailing on a shield at one point existed but have been lost to time for one reason or another or have yet to be uncovered.Personally I prefer the latter because it adds to the mystery surrounding Ullr while simultaneously making him more of a badass.
