For as much effort as Woody puts into acting like he doesn’t give a fuck about anything, this boy, in fact, gives quite a lot of fucks. He is conscious of how others view him and always has his walls up in some degree. Criticism can really get under his skin, as he would rather ignore or deny most of his flaws. Being defensive, along with poor reasoning skills, often causes him to jump to conclusions. He primarily operates based on his emotions. As quick as he is to anger, though, he is also quick to reign it back in.

As easy as it is to press his buttons, Woody also loves to bother others just as much. He is not easily disgusted, and loves tasteless, mean, and/or dark humor - although he tries not to go too far at another’s expense (to their face, anyway). In that respect, not much bothers him, and he has a strong stomach. He always appreciates a bit of mischief - after all, rules were made to be broken. Others that have a similar sense of humor and a disregard for authority will quickly find their way into a place in his heart, whether he’d admit it or not.

Although he tends towards being more subversive and often gets into trouble, at the end of the day, Woody can be a bit too stuck in his ways and the ways of his parents. He is not always open about it, but he sometimes judges others pretty harshly. Still, the youth cannot help but feel some jealousy towards those who are more free and open-minded than himself.

Woody might not be the brightest crayon in the box, but he can be a good friend to have in some respects. He is a surprisingly good listener, and enjoys hearing others’ stories, as well as being there for his friends when they need to vent. As opinionated as he sometimes is, he keeps most of that to himself unless asked or provoked. Once someone is his friend, it takes a lot to push him away for good. However, if he reaches that point, there isn't really any going back.

☠ Biography:

Woody has grown up entirely in Freak Town, born to a pretty typical lower class family. His parents were high school sweethearts, getting pregnant with his older brother just after graduating, then him a few years later, and then a third child just recently. Woody’s father is, more often than not, away for weeks at a time, leaving their mother in charge of the house and the kids. Mrs. Hobblesmash has worked at the same local diner for the past couple of decades, most of Woody’s life. He and his brother spent many evenings sitting in the diner, waiting for their mom to get off work.

Starting in his childhood, Woody began to develop a pattern of misbehavior. While his brother had been a star athlete with passable grades and a seat at the popular table, Woody seemed either determined not to or incapable of following in his footsteps. On top of being suspended from school a few times, Woody was in and out of first juvie, then jail, though never with anything more than a misdemeanor. Since age seven, he had seemed to have developed a talent for getting up to no good: taking a neighbor’s tractor for a joy ride, using a sling shot at another neighbor’s birds at their bird feeder (he was a terrible shot, thank goodness for the birds, not so much for passersby), stealing from the corner store, cheating on tests, drawing eyebrows on neighborhood dogs, more than a respectable amount of fires started, and so on and so forth.

As Woody grew older and entered into high school at Freak Town High, he did begin to settle down somewhat. His grades are still lackluster and his performance in football is halfassed at best, and he certainly can’t hold down a job, but the boy has at least learned a few things from his mistakes. Namely, that getting caught is no fun.
