"Why? Why me," he gasped into the warm, gray rain. Rain was once soothing to him, the overcast chill made him feel at home, reminded him of his lovely vampires. It made him feel safe. But now it only brought sharp reminders. It was the same rain as day where everything wonderful in his life had ended with a flatline. His life had gone to Hell.

"Why did you choose me to do this shit? Did you think I was stronger than them? Did you think I would be able to handle all of this?" he whimpered at the sky, tears running down his cheekbones and throat, hiding amongst the raindrops.

"I was strong enough once. I would have been able to move. But my fight died with them... Damn it all- I died with them."

He owns himself.
