My first project for Photoshop III: an 8x10 artistic image composite.
This assignment was difficult for me because it was meant to be vague.
The final result wasn't supposed to be something realistic or even natural.
We had to create something surreal, something dreamlike and impossible.
I don't know if mine meets that aspect of the criteria, but this was as far
as I could push the fantasy aspect of it without adding unicorns, lol.

After about ten hours of work, this is what I have. A stone balcony in
the sky (supposedly), surrounded by ocean waves, a gorgeous full moon,
and a swan floating sleepily in the clouds. I added the calligraphy to make
it look less like a landscape. I have a problem with landscapes...

I tried a few new things with this project, namely color-range selections
and blend-if sliders (which for some reason I had NEVER encountered
before). I also played with the pen tool, which royally sucks compared to
Illustrator's. Curves was an adjustment I used heavily, even though
I tend to avoid it in most of my manipulations. I guess I never really
understood how powerful it was or that it could adjust color. XD
I use these tools all the time but apparently still know nothing.

The only terribly shameless thing I did with this was use a moon
image off Google. I was too lazy to search for stock, I guess.
In my defense, the moon was ORANGE when I started, haha.
All of the other images are stock from good old deviantART.

Oh! And sorry I haven't posted anything for almost a month. I've been
trying to learn Flash and it's kicking my butt, but I'm starting to create
some pretty nifty things in it. I'll post one here if I like it enough, lol.

Created in Photoshop CS4 on April 26-27, 2010.

Thanks! That's just the feeling I was trying
to create. You know, I'm actually a little interested in
this next project because it's more design-y. lol, I think
it just appeals to some and doesn't to others. I love layout.

It's so pretty~ I love the title and all those different blues and whites. It's a very attractive and vivid piece, and I think the calligraphy adds a really nice touch.

I really like the clouds~ nice work.

Thanks! Pretty and vivid was what I was going for.
I wanted beauty, intensity, and tranquility. Which is sort
of contradictory, but it makes sense in my brain, lol.

I like the calligraphy, too. It's almost like the
piece is whispering to us, maybe singing a soft lullaby.

As always, thank you for the lovely comment!
