New parents (congratulations) - I'd have had kittens creating this!
I've only just started using Cinema 4D and love this bit of wallpaper as you classed it - so in a nut shell its now my wallpaper too.
I love the minimalistic approach, the shine, the black and white - light and dark! Mysterious isn't it!
All from something so simple as spheres and tubes!
(but there's obviously far more to it than that hey!)

I called him at the number mentioned here;

I didn't give him permission, but said that he can gladly use my artwork if I'm to be quoted somehow as the original artist. And that in future it would be polite if he were to ask.

Maxwell render is not a good choice for this image. you can achieve the same result using mental ray or final render in a time 1000times faster than maxwell...Especially when you want to animate it.

It was good enough for a still.
The final animation was done in VRay

really lovely, it looks sharp and clean, modelling is nice. it's a shame about the ligthbox so clearly visible in the reflectiosn though, they look quite artificial having that so visible to them. it lets things down a bit; the first thing that struck me was "oh, there's the lightbox"

It was actually an opening to the sky though,
there's a dome of greeble like stuff and then a clear opening.

Looks like you're getting some awesome, clean results from C4D and Maxwell! Keep at it, this one looks great.
