This is my rendition of merfolk and how I rate them in a higharchy and in no way is this to be taken as the only way.

In the world of Atlantis where merfolk are common and they're kind remain a secret; a higharchy was formed.

Monarch: The highest ranking among the merfolk that fall under the equivalent of royalty with the ability to wield magic of both land and sea, often characterized by they heavily adorned tails. Titles include King, queen, princess, prince, and many other variations.

Sub-arch: The second highest ranking among the merfolk, high status and are blessed with magic of the ocean. Can be identified by elegant accessories imitating organic lifeforms. Titles may include duchess, duch, bishop, captain of the guard.

Siren: One talented in the skill of song, so much so that the sound from they're voice influences the world and people around them in ethereal ways. Can be seen in elegant and almost gody clothing as well as a watery companion/familiar.

Common: Merfolk of no particular talent or higharchy. Often seen in simple garb as farmers and shop keeps.

Sea Witch: One born in the sub-arch class that has been cast out, abandoned, hidden, or other wise banished from the main society. Magic is considered wild and untamed as it follows unconventional training and considered unpredictable. These types of merfolk are marked with tattoos as a warning to others whom tread too close to them.

About this adopt:

As a sea witch she carries with her the ability to manipulate water and conduct an electrical charge? Removed from the main city due to the dangers of which her ability's have manifested she practised her abilitys and how they affected both those on the surface and water.
