Don't blink or you'll miss it.
This whole thing was inspired by the fanfic TheLadyFrost Check out her ff.net for some good RE content. I wanted to revisit this piece I did when I started 3 months or smth ago. I really liked the poses of the characters, so I decided that it needed a rework. Old one is still up there in my gallery. You can check it out over here 
Redid the whole node setups. Old one only had diffuse textures. Changed the lighting. I used 2 area lamps instead of bigillion point lamps I put in the old version. Added SSS and pore normal map to the skin. Adjusted the glossiness with color ramp. Increased the resolution and dropped the sample sizes to 1000 from 3000. Used Denoising with 0.3 strength, instead of indirect clamping. Kept every light path setting on default. Kept caustics on. Added background and text. Used the same texture for the background on text. Did some small color balancing changes. 
Models are ported by Sticklove and belong to Capcom. XPS, Blender Cycles. Photoshop. Enjoy! and thanks for all the favs, watchers and the support.

I google search, while my scene renders. I stockpile the good one. I also have sorta beta tester friend who sends me great pictures for backgrounds.
For this one I searched for space, stars, background. I changed the original file. The one I used was lighter.

Yes. I Used a sun ray mask, flipped it vertically and put the texture over it afterwards. Same with the text.
I know. I wonder if fair use is applied on the 3d works. It can be taken as a parody, right?

No problem, but how did you create the background?

Photoshop. Create a mask or use a template one and put the texture you want in it. Change it is settings (hue, color, constrast etc)
Then you can either mix it in compositor or the photoshop. Just don't forget to check "transparent" when you render your scene or the background will be black.

I won't lie, they make a pretty good couple. I kind of wish Leon would get over Ada and focus on someone else. The problem with Claire, is that I don't think she's really shown interest in anyone romantically, from what I can see, maybe Steve from Code Veronica. I feel even Helena from Resident Evil 6 might have made a good partner for Leon towards the end of that game

Well, in Resident Evil 2 REMAKE Claire was clearly "thirsty" for Leon. She was down right flirting with him.

Hmm, true. There were parts where she did seem interested in him. It would have been interesting if he had accepted her flirtations and actually showed interest in her, but again, he encountered Ada.

Every time she was with Leon, she just flirted with him. I was surprised of this new direction to be honest. This isn't the same way Claire acted in other games... BUT I think it added some personality and humanity to her. So that was cool and kinda funny to see. Maybe it was the horror that made her flirt away the fear she was feeling, but at any rate, I liked this twist.
Leon was pretty "stiff" (no pun intented) in this game, being professional as possible, just like Rookie cop would have been. I guess it's because of that he didn't show so much emotion even to Ada who he obviously fancied. So maybe that's why he was so distant with Claire too.

It would definitely be a new direction for her character in the series, since we couldn't really tell with technology back in the 90's, since we didn't have motion capture, and everything else in so much detail, plus the dialogue and everything to show it. That could be true about her, but maybe it was something else, I have no idea lol.
Very true about Leon. Since he was only a Rookie cop at that point in time, he would want to be as professional as possible and make a good first impression. I would have to re-take a look back at the interactions between Leon and Ada again in the Resident Evil 2 remake. It could be that since they were fighting to survive that he wasn't really thinking about romance at that time, plus also he just recently broke up with his girlfriend, that is if they kept that from the original game or not, I couldn't tell. I did find it cute when Sherry asked both Leon and Claire at the end of the game if they were boyfriend and girlfriend, too cute and funny

I heard they removed that breaking up with girlfriend bit in this game. There was big shout out from fans about it too.

Capcom stated that him breaking up with his girlfriend part is not canon anymore, that was only stated in a guild book, but is was a character behavior that Leon never once showed and he never mention or implied that it happen. Being "grit" should not mean getting drunk, being late and breaking up with someone. Actually doing your job and being responsible is being a pure white police-book example??? The RE fan base is just sad...
Claire was only nice to steve in Code Veronica, there were hints between Leon and Claire in Degeneration, not Angela, he mostly ignored her.

Well it made Leon have a bit more "grit" instead of being a pure white police-book example. So no wonder you liked that detail.
And yeah the RE2 remake is one of the best games I have played this year, easy. And I hope they do as good of a job with the 3rd game. Because that's my second favorite RE game, only bested by the first one.

Capcom has a history of never really pairing up their characters. It is all vague. RE characters are lonely and sad. :/

True, it is very vague, since the Resident Evil series is mainly a survival horror series genre, and never really focuses on love/romance. It would be nice however if they do give hints of that at some point in time

I know during the CGI movie Resident Evil: Degeneration, they have some hints of a possible romance between Leon and Angela, but I don't think it ever came to fruition, or if they dated very briefly. It would be nice if some of the characters that we grew up with in Resident Evils 1, 2, 3, etc. did settle down with someone they meet, since they are all getting older by the time it's the events of Resident Evil 7. Maybe that's just me being hopeful, but I'm pretty sure it's something that they are not going emphasize at all
