Description A Life You Love #1 --->[link]

Story behind this: Ok, so in English, we were reading A Tale of Two Cities and put into groups to do this big-ass project composed of many small projects that led up to shrinking the 300 pg book down to 15 pgs. One of the mini projects that my group assigned to me was designing a poster for A Tale of Two Cities. So, I sketched out many many things. This was one of the sketches that never made it, not because I hated it, but because our 15 pg was going to be about Sydney Carton, not about Lucie and Charles Darnay. I actually liked this sketch, so I copied it over to my sketchbook and finished it up and here's the end result.

I actually really really like how Darnay turned out. Smexy. <3 (Though, in the sketch, he looks smexier, wow.)

You won't completely understand the title unless you read the book. I won't spoil it for anybody.

This is version #2. I just very slightly increased contrast.

That's cool. The project for my class is to get ten quotes from our character and then find a picture of a real live person that resembles them. I got assigned Darnay and now I'm trying to figure out who could resemble him...

Ooh, good luck with that! I don't remember the book much anymore *terrible memory*, so I can't give any suggestions. ^^' Some clean-shaven dude, I guess. That could be almost anybody though. xP

Thanks for the comment.

I was also assigned this book in a class a while ago. At first I hated it. It was way too much reading every night and I ended up reading the summaries on sparknotes most of the time-like the rest of the class- until I had time to read it for myself. I am glad however, that I did go back to read all the stuff I had skipped for times sake because I loved it! It is truely a brilliant piece of literature! The characters are all so amazing! At first I could not stand Carton... but by about half way through he was by far my favorite character.
Really fabulous sketch! The expressions are great!

XD
I got lucky when reading this book. Our teacher told us to read sparknotes... Then he had us answer this packet that compared and contrasted the book's information with what sparknotes provided.

Thank you!

The guys chin should be placed a little bit to the left. Other than that, it's a great drawing!

Well, I do admit I am improving fast...LOL remember the crap I drew at the beginning of last year? That makes me laugh. But I think it's thanks to people like you who *unintentionally* "let" me copy their drawing styles so I can adapt them and call them my own (lol)

ASOIDHAOISoiDHOA NOOO NOT THE TALE OF TWO CITIES! -runs away and falls off cliff-

You know, I just didn't like that book. At all. It's weird cause I usually find a way to like books we are forced to read in english, but not that one XD But I have to say, this drawing is amazing! Very nice. I love drawing for class assignments XD I'm doing portraits of the main characters of the book "The Great Gatsby" right now for english...sooo yeah

._. Oh wow... I knew people hated this book but never enough to die because of it.

Yah, I'm not a big fan of the book myself... But then again, there's parts in it that, after I read pinkmonkey (i was allowed to read it, teacher actually had us do an assignment where we had to use a cliff notes type site, so it's alright), got me to actually like it... Yah, if that made any sense at all, ^^'.

Thank you. Drawing for class assignments can be fun, but I also feel tons of pressure when I do. There's a deadline as well as the peer pressure to do my best as well as a grade pressure to do my absolute best so that i can get the max points for creativity and effort.

I heard of that book... My friend last year had to read it and she told me about it. I don't remember anything though, except there's something w/ a car in it. How is it?

XD I was over exaggerating...but it was still bad. I think there was like...one story I liked...but I guess I didn't like it that much if I don't remember it now, heh.

And you are right. It's stressful, because yes there's a deadline and I'm afraid that my classmates and/or teacher are going to be like 'wtf u suck'. Aahaha even though I drew this really ugly Snow White poster that I spent only like less than an hour on and my teacher like wanted to frame it XD I love non-art classes. They actually appreciate my art...unlike my art class last year...-shudders-

Yeah...there's a car involved XD It's a REALLY good book...like seriously. It shows how money doesn't make you happy, and most of the time it corrupts you. It also shows how love conquers all If you don't read it in your high school career, I suggest you read it for the heck of it
