I started this one and then left it alone for a while because I had just finished my Larger LOTR trilogy Poster and at the time I was not yet ready to say goodbye to Lord of the Rings so I started this one and then got pulled toward something else. Lately I had this urge to go back to it, maybe because I can feel the fall Air rolling in and just inspired me. I had a lot of fun with this one and the amount of detail and I wish that everyone could feel about it the way I did by listening to certain parts of the soundtrack that actually made it seem like this painting could move. I am not bragging, I am just proud of this one and usually I am a harsh critic with my work.Airbrush/ acrylic on Illustration Board

That was a judgement call on my end to leave them out so that I could make it more of a blurred backdrop and keep more of the focus on Legolas

Love the textures and colours of this. It gives the scale too and I always liked that Jackson does that in thte film- you get the same sense of that - it's not just an elephant with a funny name but a very ferocious weapon. The character looks small but totally focused, unintimidated.
