Description Baako, the forge master at the girl boarding school outside of Kaylik was friends with Essaerae. Though he was in his early twenties and her in her early teens. At first Essaerae thought of him as a friend, then a crush. It eventually developed into her liking him above and beyond. When they sat on the docks and Essaerae told him she wanted to talk to him, she told him. He said that it was unfornate that she liked him because he was gay. He shut down Essaerae's love for him but they remained friends. Essaerae ended up plotting to run away from the school, as her family expected her to be a normal female housewife and she wanted so more. She did not want to let them control her. She grew up being the only female and middle child of five, she wanted what her brothers had. Baako had dealt with that as well, being the oldest of two, he was expected to run his family's grocery shop and orchard but had no interest, but they found out he was gay and kicked him out. Either way, Baako was glad. They met in a secluded area to talk about her escape plan. Baako told her, "Essaerae, if you wish to leave this place without being found, you must leave tonight during the school's festival." As well as suggesting she cut her hair. She gave herself a buzz cut and Baako gave her some of his old clothes and she left that night.

Essaerae and Baako remained friends throughout life, even though they did not speak directly. They would write letters after Essaerae settled in the elf kingdom of Arün. Essaerae said she'd started falling in love with their prince, who probably had no real idea she existed, but also had white hair. Baako told her parents came to the school but he'd caught wind of them saying that they were officially done with putting up with her ideals and disowning her. She didn't care. Baako invited her to his wedding which she gladly attended and hoped he'd return the favor. Baako and his husband, also a tiefling, afterwards presented to the council of Kaylik that they wanted to adopt the only child they had had in the orphanage for quite some time. Their request was accepted and the human boy became the son of two tiefling gay dads. Essaerae went back to Arün and the letters from Baako became slower and slower until they stopped being returned. She didn't think much of it, as he was busy with his own life, too. Years passed and it came time for Essaerae's own wedding to said prince who was now the Arünian king, she invited Baako to come to Arün. They did not receive a reply until afterwards. It was from their son, who was old now. Baako had passed a long time ago. Baako's son asked Essaerae and her newlywed husband if they would like to visit. Essaerae got to hear stories from the son about his parents and received a letter Baako had written in his final years as closure for the people he knew throughout his life. Baako also left Essaerae a his sword and one of his shirts that she often saw him wearing to her, which she eventually passed to her own son who wished he got to meet the tiefling his mother had known all those years ago.

I suppose so? I haven't ran any campaigns in a long time and I got so invested in one that i wanted to turn it into a book.
