Okay, WTF?! Really? But then if this is rhe west coast by L.A. or San Fran I am not surprised given how trashy both places here. I can attest to this. I was from L.A. and you see that everywhere now.

Yes if only people would think about that, instead of that whole nonsense with CO2.

Funny you should say that, as a mere 2 days ago we hit the highest daily average CO2 levels ever.Β
Pollution in the ocean is a huge problem, but if we don't solve the CO2 crisis first we're all in for a literal world of hurt.

rphb In reply to 958576623678423a [2020-02-12 21:47:40 +0000 UTC]
Pollution
is a serious danger, plastic is littering the globe, pesticides are killing the
bees and artificial hormones are slowly making all of us sterile.
But whenever any
these serious problems comes up, there is always one topic that overshadows
them. The small but essential gas carbon dioxide.
Thou art current
in a way that there have been a crisis with CO2, it is just the opposite of
what thou think, because for thousands of years, the CO2 levels have become dangerously low.
Ten
thousand years ago the entire Sahara desert were a green savanna. The plants
died because of lack of nutrients, because the CO2 levels had become too low.
But there is hope, for within the last 35 years an area twice the size of the
continental USA have greened, bringing new life to regions who were once barren desert.
Β
CO2 is the
gas of life, it is essential to all plants on Earth, who are in turn essential to
all other life.
As there is
no crisis regarding CO2, there is also no crisis to be solved. But there are
two problems that have been left unanswered. Partly why CO2 levels in the atmosphere
have been rising, and what effect it have on the climate.
There is no
concrete proof that human activities have any effect on the climate, nor is
there any indication that CO2 causes temperatures to rise. Long term studies show CO2 is a lagging
indicator to temperatures, which pretty much rules out that it should contribute to global
warming. Rather it is global warming that contributes to a rise in CO2 levels.
The second misconception
is about the long term average temperatures. A discredited climate scientist,
produced the now rather famous so called βhockey stick graphβ of the global
average temperatures, which does not correspond with reality in the least.
The reality
is that we are still several degrees from reaching the medieval warm period,
and most temperature graphs starts around the year 1800 which was close to the
coldest point of the so called βlittle ice ageβ caused by the so called βmaunder
minimumβ a period where the sun had very little activity.
Celestial
weather is not something humanity have any effect over however, and the Sun is
a rather calm star, so we donβt have great things to fear from it.
Β
The real
reason they want us to focus so much on this inane and literally beneficial
gas, is so that we wonβt focus on real problems, and so that they can take away
more of our rights in order to solve this made up problem. Rights that our ancestors often died to get us. By βtheyβ I of
course mean the political watermelons.
A
watermelon is an interesting fruit, as it is green on the outside but⦠I will
let thee finish that sentence.
It is, to
quote the former propaganda minister of Nazi Germany Joseph Goebbels, an
example of a so called Big Lie: βIf you tell a lie big enough and keep
repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be
maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the
political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes
vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent,
for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth
is the greatest enemy of the State.β
