Description Rounding up the sheep's from the mountains. This was my 6 time going.. and no I'm not some old person.. I started going to the mountains only 13 years old, and now I'm 18 years old. This is the first year I can take pictures from this adventure, because all last 5 years the weather has been CRAZY.. The wind, rain, fog and even snow has been driving me furious. But this year had some new difficulties. Because of two eruptions here in Iceland the dry wind had ash in it. Like you can see in this photo the sky is gray. And the other bad thing was the earth being to dry, nowhere water for the horses. We had to go many miles to pick up water for them. So yeah, there is always something wrong. BUT this is sooooo much fun

Here you can see a picture from my last day ( The third day ) and Þingvallavatn is the water you can see here. This is high over the sea level.

Oh i wish i could once round up sheep, but I'm not from Iceland... I did the kjölur tour on horseback, but that was with a group, and, you know, then you still are a tourist...
The person in the picture reminds me a lot of an old mountain king who rode with us trough Kjölur. He was very kind and wasn't bothered riding for six hours straight despite his age. Great picture, it really reminds me of last summer!

What a cool image! I've longed myself to work at a Rettir. I can ride Icelandic horses pretty well, but I'd probably be better as support staff.

Interesting the complications of the ash. I saw it when our plane was flying over the highlands en route to the Faroe Islands, wind blown up ash that covered the region like clouds.

One of my goals in life is to ride in the Rettir! Even though the ash must be annoying, I love the dreamy quality it gives this photo.
