Alexander and the Crystal Ball

Once upon a time, in the kingdom nestled in between the rose bushes of your head, two princes have been born.
With two sons having been born at the same time, the King chose his successor by ordering one of them to be randomly killed. on the eve of the chosen son's persecution, the Queen, a silent, yet strong-willed woman hid him in the belly of a strong and noble stag who has been a kind and loyal friend since her childhood.

The Queen then, turned to her King on the morning of the persecution and told him that there was no need to hold such a ceremony, for the weaker son had been eaten by a wild best in the middle of the night. When she saw that the King was satisfied, she turned her back and silently shed two drops of tears in secret. One for the guilt, loss, and worry for her departed son, and the other for joy that they both shall live.

The exiled prince was founded by an ugly witch and her husband who was a blacksmith. They took the little prince in, christened him Anthony, and raised him as if he was their own child.

Anthony grew up to be a fair, kind-hearted child while his twin brother, Alexander grew spoiled, and wicked-hearted.

Prince Alexander became fascinated with blood-shed when he witnessed the prosecution of a lowly thief at an impressionable age. It was a dark time when Alexander took over the throne when the King died mysteriously from food poisoning. Alexander would exterminate innocent lives by the hundreds each day, until the carpets of his castle was drenched in the color of their blood. His excuse for having ordered their deaths would simply be because he hated them. He didn't have to have a reason for his malicious feelings. Alexander hated absolutely everyone and everything, except for himself and his over-grown lizard he whom he believed to be a dragon.

Little Alexander soon became quite bored with blood, however, and took a fondness for slow torture.
A new torture device would be brought to Alexander everyday and he would have a subject to test it out. When that became boring, to the vast relief of his citizens, the power-hungry King discovered the delights of fortune-telling and magic. He learned that by looking into the hollow eyes of his slain enemies, he could see a sliver of the future.

One night, a night much like all the other nights, the Horrid Alexander went for a stroll in the courtyard with his dragon, picking roses along the way, when he came across the remains of an old skeleton.
"The maids can't do their job for shit," he muttered to himself as he picked up the crumbling skull, "This must have lain here since forever".

However, Alexander was never to be the same again after what he saw in the dark void of those ancient eyes.
What he saw was a glimpse of dainty hands, and a shining lock of curly hair belonging to a little maiden. the terrible King of blood lust fell in love.
