my Ryuuzaki Umi costume I made over the course of the last year. I like the higher resolution since you can see the sewing detail.lots of work! lots of sewing. and a lot of resin casting and slipstitching....

Absolutely lovely!! And that wig is the perfect color! I've been wanting to make a Umi cosplay for a while but I'm pretty picky when it comes to colors. Do you remember where you got your wig and what color its called? I would really apreaciate it!

It was a 90cm powerlon in color 911 from Cyperous I bought waaay back in 2007 or 2008. (SKU: FST-90-911) It looks like they're either out of it, or maybe don't sell it anymore: cyperous-cosplay.com/wig/wig.c…
HOWEVER. If I were to buy a wig for Umi in 2016, I would purchase one from Epic Cosplay. They're much better than Cyperous for wigs longer than 60cm, and also far easier to order from.

I've definitely bought long (36-40") straight ice blue wigs there before, but strangely the closest I can find right now is the Hera (36" curly). I would email and ask whether they straight ones are out of stock, unlisted, or discontinued. I've flat-ironed Heras before with no problems, though, so that's always an option in the worst case. I can rustle up some photos if you like, just let me know.

you captured this costume exactly how i'd imagine it'd look in real life! It looks like you took a lot of care and time with this costume, and didn't let anything get sloppy, it's a really beautiful umi cosplay!

I'm really picky with my sewing, so I try to make sure it looks as good from 2 inches as it does from 2 yards.
