Description I managed to find Ilyana in her usual spot, her bed that's hidden within the gym. It didn't take much to wake her up as she had already been asleep for a while. We discussed the facts about Lyn and her friends until one of the trainers from the gym interrupted us to return Mia to Ilyana after borrowing the Emolga for a musical. Ilyana is well aware of what her Pokémon wants. This fact alone helps her connect with Lyn, Roy, and Eirika. If it wasn't for that fact, there's also the fact that Ilyana personally knows the parents of each one and has been on a bit of an adventure with them. Ilyana met Madelyn here in Unova and formed a strong relationship through many trials. Ilyana met Fado while he was on a trip to Unova where Ilyana managed to help him find a wife who would eventually give birth to both Eirika and Ephraim. During a quick trip to Sinnoh, Ilyana ran into Eliwood as he was preparing to travel the world. The only reason Eliwood decided to move to Unova was because Ilyana told him all about Nuvema Town and how it helps people like themselves with their gift. Yes. Madelyn, Fado, Eliwood, and Ilyana all have the gift to talk to Pokémon as well. This gift is genetic and can be passed down from parent to child. It has yet to be discovered whether or not the gift can skip generations, though. Another unknown is whether the gift will eventually disappear completely after the blood responsible for it reaches a certain point where it is overwhelmed by the rest of the person's blood. Even so, the gift has been around for generations upon generations and has yet to go away. Regardless, Ilyana has been helping me with my research on the matter as well as providing a way for me hide more easily thanks to her status as a model. It was by my suggestion that Ilyana even started the fad that allows me to hide in plain sight. Yes. The purple hair and green clothes fad. It's still only a matter of time before Team Plasma finds me, though.

Thanks to my meeting with Ilyana, I managed to gather more information regarding the current situation as well as some other useful info. Ilyana has noticed that Team Plasma has been working in the shadows for quite some time. They've even started using their ninja force to keep an eye on particular targets. I've already had Nowi deliver a letter to Iris about the situation. As my main general in charge of the Unova area, Iris can easily get some of our own hidden forces in the area to combat Team Plasma's ninja force. I even got some more info from Eliwood when I caught him as he was passing by after talking to Lyn, Eirika, and Roy. Eliwood has noticed that the trees have become far too quiet to be normal. After hearing this, I let Eliwood go about his business. It seems like I need to be a bit more careful. A lack of noise in the trees can only mean that something unnatural is hidden within them. Team Plasma can fool most people, but they can't fool the Pokémon. I always thought that Nimbasa City was unusually quiet upon arriving here. I was just hearing human voices, but the Pokémon populace was unusually quiet. I better check out the area near the gym again...

As I thought, Team Plasma was setting something up. I didn't have to really do anything as Lyn managed to drive them off by beating G. As I had hoped, Lyn also resolved to put an end to Team Plasma's shenanigans. Micaiah has grown since she first joined Lyn, too. Micaiah is now looking at the situation from a more thoughtful standpoint rather than the selfish one she started with. Even if it's just by a little, Micaiah has matured. Now, I'm curious to see just how much more Micaiah has matured. To find out, I need to keep observing from a distance. If Micaiah knows I'm there, she's going to react differently. That much is certain. I need to know how Micaiah will react when I'm NOT there. I better go check on a few more things and let Lyn get to battling Ilyana.

It seems like Roy is starting change. I decided to stop by Route 4 in time to see Eliwood forfeit his battle with his son while Roy was about to obviously lose. It was easy to tell from the conversation that Eliwood was forcing his son to try to think about more than winning. To Eliwood, the battle was never about victory. To Roy, victory was the only thing that mattered. To hear Roy actually complain about his own victory was something that seemed like it was years to come. Eliwood knew just how to prompt a change in Roy's train of thought. Maybe this event will be the one that I was hoping for. The one that will force Roy to mature and see things in a new light. I better head to Route 5. I need to get things set up over there. Lyn should be about ready to start heading to Driftveil City. I can see Ilyana and Lyn talking, so it appears that Lyn has beaten Ilyana and received her badge. There isn't any other reason for Ilyana to leave her gym with Lyn like that.

Iris arrived on Route 5 as I asked. She even brought the Charizards with her. After I told Iris about the situation personally, Iris decided that she needed to check in on the other cities of the area and try to minimize Team Plasma's presence there. Iris left immediately and left the two Charizards in my care. I decided to have the Charizards prepare themselves for the task ahead by performing perform some aerial strength exercises before the main event. The current Unova Champion happened to notice the Charizards taking and decided to take the opportunity to ask me about everything that's going on. Alder didn't seem too concerned about Team Plasma since I seemed to everything under control. As such, Alder didn't see much of a reason to get involved. Typical. I noticed Roy and Lyn getting ready to have a battle and decided to have Alder see them in action for himself while I checked on something.

Ilyana found me pretty quickly after her battle with Eirika. Ilyana explained everything she had planned about getting Eirika and Roy together as well as telling me about her battles with Lyn, Roy, and Eirika. Lyn seems to be getting better at reading ahead and preparing for a bad situation. Roy is making some progress in learning to use some actual strategy for once! Finally! Eirika is really living up to expectations, too. Walking into a gym at a disadvantage and still walking out victorious using a great strategy. I thanked Ilyana for the information and tried to find Alder to find out his opinion on Roy and Lyn. Fortunately enough, Lyn and Roy had just finished talking to Alder and decided to head their own ways. I found Alder playing with some nearby kids. Look. I'm all for helping today's youth, but you need to know when you're going to look creepy! I swiftly grabbed a hold of Alder and talked to him about the situation. Alder doesn't seem to care about what others think about him as long as he can actually help the kids. Fair enough. I just gave him a warning then proceeded to get his opinion on Roy and Lyn. Needless to say, Lyn impressed him. Lyn's reason for her journey as well as her capabilities in battle left a strong impression. Roy, on the other hand, seemed like the typical trainer to Alder. I know Alder doesn't see the same things I do, but he needs to pay more attention to the small details more. Some of things I see are things that EVERYONE should be able to notice. I left Alder to finally lower the bridge since I noticed that Lyn was snooping around the broken control panel for the drawbridge. Clay was so overwhelmed by Team Plasma that he cut the power to the city in order to catch them. Little did he know that cutting the power to the city cut the power to the drawbridge. I swear that Clay likes giving people more things to do than necessary. In any case, I have something to do.

Lyn was impressed by the display. She even asked about how I could get the Charizards to obey me regardless of badge count and ownership. I didn't feel like telling her how, so I just promised to tell her later. Since I had a feeling that I had a feeling that she would have tried to pester me into telling me now, I suggested that Lyn get going across. For her own sake, I warned her all about the huge amount of Duckletts known to live around the bridge and how they like to flock to the bridge once it's down. I could see the look of sheer terror on her face before I wished her luck and decided to track down those Charizard with Nowi. I know all about Lyn's terrible incident from all those years ago. I'm still trying to find the culprit responsible for it. I have so few clues to work off of. The few leads that I could find seemed to lead to dead ends, too. Whoever traumatized Lyn has kept their tracks to a minimum and concealed those as best as they could. I need to find another clue before I can help Lyn with that problem, but I'm not sure IF I can help Lyn at the moment. Unova seems to drawing closer and closer to another incident like the one that left it barren for hundreds of years. I need to prevent that from happening.
