Sparky's the type of person who'll be a dick for fun while Hammerface just pretends to be well-behaved until the last minute, then is an ass to someone

They're complete opposites in terms of causing chaos, so they tend to get on each other's nerves more often than not. They do work together and care for one another (especially after coming to Earth), but early on would annoy each other extensively

In Mirror it's even more so early on, though both actually become decent friends towards each other by the time of deactivation-Sparky's not exactly in Hammerface's very prickly friend group, but he is adjacent to it via knowing Hammerface, Hocker, and Clip
