whoops I did a thingLaurella knows how to weave baskets and braid ropes. so she figured she would start weaving strands of magic to make strings and rope, she would use them to temporarily grab or bind things or enemies, maybe catch things that are falling. she's still experimenting with it, but some day she hopes she can make more advanced things like clothing, nets, and using it to control puppets, she realizes the dangerous potential of this spell however if she were to ever apply attributes and elements to it...

I dont think its disallowed to have magic from an artifact, but you are right at the point that she would not be allowed to use this magic during missions. Otherwise I think the admins dont mind.

if they have any qualms about it, it simply will not be used during missions and such, the Magic displayed here is following the same headcannon's that StarLynxWish 's character Astra runs on, So the question whether or not she can gain magic from an artifact is answered there. you can find her headcanons on her tumblr here .

I'm aware of her headcanon and the story between Astra and Laurella, just wondered about the first point is all, since it'd be neat to see it in action in official missions, errands and the like. Not just personal stories.

sure, it would be, but sadly laurella has a tendency to lose or not have access to her artifact at the most inconvenient of times XP either way, i dont even want to risk being called out on laurella using magic during the missions and such. so sorry, but it will only be used in personal stories.

mhmm, I plan to have A running gag/theme in where Laurella looses, gets separated from, or leaves behind her artifact, conveniently at the same time as a mission or task, thus Astra could possibly scold her for being so so careless.

The difference between Laurella and Astra I think here is the fact that Astra's moveset can completely support her use of magic during missions and anything else. This group does not allow anything that pokemon cannot do without their moveset.
