After seeing the last episode of MLP:FiM, my buddy and I talk about it. I crack a joke of us beating the hell out of the Prince for being a royal douche....and he drew itThe one punching is my char Lucky Streak. the one holding Blueblood is an old creation of his called Unity.

Is it wrong that this brings a big grin to my face, oh who am kidding,the pony-shaped turd-bastard, deserves it, but I wish he was getting hit in the balls.

Why does he deserve this?

The guy is the antithesis of the "Prince Charming," he is rude, greedy, pompous, I mean the guy made his date pay for food when he's the one with all the money, and then proceeded to use her as pony shield when a cake was going to land on top of him, he's so horrible his date proceeded to smash her glass slippers so he wouldn't find her, yeah he's pretty awful.

He is less of a douche than Flim Flam, Gilda, Sunset, Suri and Garbel yet he gets more hate than them

Well all of those characters, except Garble, are characters that people love to hate, they do their jobs as villains well, Blueblood on the other hand, or in this case hoof, is a character that people just outright hate.

But why should he be hated? What did he do wrong?
Lets see:
Prince Blueblood expected Rarity to Do stuff for him because he is royalty
Rarity expected him to do stuff for her because she is a female
If Blueblood is a jerk for his expectations then so is Rarity

Just because Rarity had unfair expectations, doesn't forgive the fact Blueblood was an outright jerk to her and her friends, he made Rarity use her shawl to mop up water, he spat out Applejack's food because it was 'common carnival food,' and used Rarity as shield to deflect cake, anyway you slice it, for either gender, Blueblood's actions were just deplorable.

He is selfish I gotta admit. But being selfish isn't worthy of being beaten up for it. try to beat up somebody somebody who was "Rude" to you in real life And you will be arrested.
Besides Blueblood is a pretty decent person compared to the other royals
Princess Celestia : Treats the lifes of an Entire damn empire as a joke to Test Twilight.Β
Princess Luna : Wanted to kill everyone just because people don't pay attenrion to her, Even The likes of Hitler had a more reasonable motivation.Β
Princess Cadence : Brianwashed an argueing couple into lovey dovey mode, Thats a pretty messed up thing to do and an abuse of power.Β
Princess Twilight : Her actions in Mare Do Well speak for itself, Plus She at point punched Spike(A child)
I would rather be an arrogant prince than to do the stuff these four did

I propose a counter argument for each:
Celestia: Okay her actions are questionable, but she is a kind and loving ruler who wants to protect her subjects, if she were the way you're making her out to be then couldn't have weilded the Elements of Harmony, she wouldn't have tried the diplomatic approach when Luna went NMM, and she wouldn't have battled Chrysalis at the end of season 2, she's not some troll that plays around with the lives of other for no good reason.
Luna: Luna didn't want to kill everyone, she just wanted them to appreciate her night, she was alone and neglected, and she was also under the influence of the Nightmare Forces, as shown in the comics, she wasn't in full control.
Cadance: We don't exactly know how her powers work, but she does seem responsible enoughto only use her powers on people already in love, and if she was as evil as you say she is she would have mind controlled Shining Armor into loving her in the comics. I think her powers revolve increasing love that is already their, and reminding other of that, and yes I know it's just a head canon, but it doesn't seem to far off from what we've seen.
Twilight: In the episode Mysterious Mare-Do-Well it wasn't just her that was acting in the wrong, it was all of her friend, and they did have a right to feel they way they did, Rainbow Dash had been bragging about her accomplishments for day on end after they happened, this could have gone on for a few days, or even over a week, the rest of the Mane 6 were upset and had an emotional reaction, but the problem is that the rest of the Mane 6 are presented in the right when they're in the wrong, and Rainbow Dash is presented in the wrong. As for hitting Spike, it was a joke, it was slapstick, and Spike deserved it when he was hit, and Applejack has hit him as well.
Noone is perfect, not even the Princesses, they make mistakes, that's what makes them human characters, and there is more to them then their mistakes and flaws, all we have seen of Blueblood in the show is him being rude, there is really nothing else to his character. Others like Gilda, Flima and Flam, Suri and others like them do their jobs well and act as great foil and act as great foils for the main characters, they also have othe qualities that make fans like them, Gilda was unique, we had never seen anything like her in the show before, and her tone and choice of words at the end of her episode implies more to her character, Flim and Flam had great designs and a musicsl number that mist people seemed to really enjoy, Suri's greed and maniulative nature was a great foil to Rarity's generosity, Sunset Shimmer was just a great villain, being able to match Twilight in battle of brains, and she was reformed in the end.
If we take your original arguement then by that logic all the villain in the show should be hated, do you think that Tirek deserves more hate than Blueblood, I personally don't think so because Tirek was great villain, intimidating and cunnin, Blueblood is just a jerk, there isn't really anything more to his character.

Celestia : I didn't say she was a tyrant, But her actions in The Crystal Empire Were that of a sicopath, If any world leader tried to treat another country as a test then the world would see them as terrible human beings.
Luna: Actually Faust said eternal Night would kill everypony due to plant stop growing, a good leader should be mature and she showed a huge Level of immaturity by letting such a minor thing get to her.Β
Cadence : Brainwash is brainwash, What if that couple was argueing about something important? And who gives her the right to deciede how others should act? She was meddling in there freedom. Then again she was a teenager at the time and may have matured and seen the error of her ways.
Twilight : Even if her actions in MDW was due to bad writing there were still other moments where she makes Blueblood look like a saint. And I don't care if it was for humor, If my mom punched me in puplic I would be embarassed.
And I disagree about him being uninteresting? I find him to be more interesting than Say Shining Armor, Wanna know why? Because he is a metaphor for how corrupt the higher class are, This gives the Royal Family a sense of realism, if all of them were goodie goodies who loved their ponies then it would be boring, He is a good counterpart to the other royals as while they are humble he let the fame corrupt him which we all know happens a lot in Real Life(Look at how much of an Asshole Justin Bieber became when in 2009 he was a pretty decent guy)

You seem to have completely ignored the fact that Luna was corrupted by the Nightmare Force, like I said she was not in full control, they took advantage of her when she was feeling neglected and useless, how would you feel if you and partner worked together on something and they got all the credit while you were mostly ignored, now multiply that by 100 and you'll get a sense of how Luna was feeling when she was persuaded by the Nightmare Forces.
As for when Cadance used her magic the couple was arguing about the mare going for a hooficure, it wasn't anything important, sometimes people blow thing way out of proportion.
Okay look, it appears that neither of us will be able to fully understand were the other is coming from, and that okay, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, although I thank you for the rather mentally stimulating discussion.

I didn't like this character for being a douche really...I didn't like this character for mainly being a one-dimensional douche...all the does is act pompous, i mean really, well I guess we were going to find the one-dimensional character eventually, right...But here's how I would fix his character without changing too much. Basically, have him as one of those villain characters, I mean it can happen with some work, I mean give this guy connections with the seedy underbelly of equestria and I can guarantee that this guy would become the MLP version of The Penguin in no time! I mean just play the Penguin theme from Batman TAS and tell me it doesn't fit! I mean he already thinks he's above everyone else and the world revolves around him, just make him a mob boss wanting to usurp Celestia from her throne from Canterlot and that would make him a more 3 dimensional character

And in the event that he coughs up "Blue Blood" and makes a mess on the table, clean it up immediately. But if you don't have anything to clean it with, god help you.
