Description Still don´t have my tablet. That the reason for not submitting much these day´s.

Anyway i do get the chance to draw on a tablet once in a while. did this 2 day´s ago at my boyfriends house. took me about 4 hours. It´s far from complete. He still needs his tail and one wing and a background ofcourse!

I fancied drawing a furry thing again. I haven´t done it in a while. So I thought let´s do a griffin! Buuut not a standard eagle-like one, but a more dark mystical one. So i made him black/blueish and gave him a raven/ crow head! I love how it turned out! The pressure you can make with the pen of the tablet was really usefull for this creature.

Well I hope you people like the idea! Please comment or give some critic and ideas! the help alot you know!

Great detail. Good highlights on the fur. The only problem I see so far it that the ankle fur on back leg is appearing to be crossing in front of the front leg. Good luck on finishing it.

Ooh! That's very pretty <3 Especially for just four hours worth of work. The fur and feathers look really good--they take a while to draw each individual hair, yeah, but it's all worth it in the end ;D
I guess my only critique would be that his paws look a little stumpy--almost more like hands than paws, unless that's what you were going for.
Good luck with getting your tablet back! D: I can't wait to see this finished!

Holy crap! Thats turning out amazing! I can't wait to see it finished. How did you do the fur/ feathers? Did download a brush or did you do it by hand? I just love how your fur and feathers look.

Lol, thats just crazy cause I'm also working on a griffin! I guess great minds do think alike. XD

Al by hand with a normal bursh. You make fur real lifelike by using a dark layer underneath, it gives hairs depth. Use brush sizes between 2 and 5 pixels for every hair. Same thing with the feathers, make the shape of the feathers and give it lines with the small brush. It does take time in the begining but after a few tomes you get the hang of it.

Ahh, I thought so. I kinda do the same thing when I do fur, though I think I don't do enough layers and my brush is too soft. I've been trying to sharpen up my drawings more so I'll try working on it, thanks! I was just curious cause your griffin looks amazing.

Well, I was watching these hummingbirds play in my backyard the other day so I just had a random idea pop into my head of doing a Hummingbird-like griffin. I'm going to color it like a male Anna's hummingbird since those are the kind that live in my city, they are bright green, white, and a beautiful ruby red neck.

They're so cute. ^^ Plus It's more fun doing something different then the average hawk or eagle like griffin, even though I like those too.
