Abilities: understanding of shadow language without learning it

Kumere aka pure shadow dragons are more preoccupied with world balance rather than with specific creatures as they don't intervene... mostly. They are observers, sometimes quite curious. But it's not impossible for them to... fall in love. It's a rare thing, very rare that requires an understanding of emotions and feelings they usually lack due to being shadows, yet they can learn. If they want.

So, Omi is one of rare hybrids. You may think that she'd inherit a good part of her father's abilities, including shadow transformation, but she didn't. She cannot do magic at all, not even the easiest spell is going to work. She can only hear and talk with shadows - a weird talent for someone so rare and precious. This talent made a lot believe that she's... not in her mind. Poor girl c:
