Just another day in the park? The couple in this shot looked so utterly lost. They were wondering around central park as though their driver had booted them out of the car and left them to find their own way to/from the chapel.I swung round and took this shot whilst watching a street performer. It was quite funny. Everyone round and about were quite casual and just milling around. It was a cool autumn day. This couple and their stark white formal clothing really stood out in contrast..they were quite the proverbial 'sore thumb'.
Anyways, I felt all good about myself..as though I had zoomed in and caught a moment in this couple's special day. Only to find out from a friend a few hours later that said couple are in the park every weekend modelling for Asian wedding magazines. Gah. ah well. They looked really nice though!

This is a great shot to me for a number of reasons. The wedding couple looks so withdrawn from their surroundings, the tight cropping help to inforce that. Their wayward stares, toward each other yet not looking at each other, seem to show some stress. And the couple standing in the background, to the right of the picture, help add a bizarre sense of normality (+insanity) to the whole situation. The bride looks almost as if she's screaming "Just get me to the $%^$%^ church on time!!!".

I agree with corv8tte's comment. Thats what helps them look so out of place. If the whole wedding eunterage (sp?) was with them, it would take away from what you captured. It does seem as if they were suddenly zapped into another world, one that they weren't in just a few seconds earlier! And the fact that the groom is carrying her boquet and has his arm to help guide the bride...that makes it look like they are really a couple and not just pretending.
I choose this one as my first FAV! I love it I love I love it!

that this wasnt a 'real wedding' scene makes this a more interesting shot. would have been better if more of the nonchalant people around them were captured into the frame ....just a mild opinion. oops.

Isn't the park just the most interesting place to go? There are so many "stories" to capture. This shot is just as you say "a moment in time" even if the couple aren't really a couple .
One thing I would have loved to have seen to go along with this shot is a ...what's the term? erm...More of a birds eye view of the scene meaning this close up is great and to contrast it a higher up view so as to see how "dark" everyone around them was and how "light" they were, how they stuck out from the crowd.... I bet that makes no sense.

Nice with the story about the day and the "couple" in the shot!
Really nice capture... the way her skirt is splayed out... him holding the bouquet and with his arm out to her as if to guide her... she does have that "lost look" on her face.
