Description It only made sense to have the twins from Royal Woods, Michigan to give the twins from Ornskoldsvik, Sweden a proper sendoff.

This piece has twins Lana and Lola Loud (from The Loud House) with another notable pair of twins -- the Sedins.

The end of the 2017-18 NHL season has marked the end of two spectacular 18-year long professional hockey careers. Henrik and Daniel Sedin have been key parts of the Vancouver Canucks organization since they were drafted in 1999 (Daniel 2nd, Henrik 3rd overall). In the seasons since then (they started playing in 2000), #33 and #22 have given their best for the Canucks, initiating plenty of highlight reel plays that have turned into goals, assists, and many other memorable moments for themselves and their teammates. Their careers have seen plenty of achievements:
  • Both brothers have won the Art Ross Trophy (Henrik in 2010, Daniel in 2011) as the league's leading points scorers in their respective seasons.
  • Both Sedins have also took home league MVP honours in those years, as well. Henrik got the Hart Memorial Trophy in 2010 (MVP as decided by the writers) and Daniel took home the Ted Lindsay Award in 2011 (MVP as voted by the players).
  • Henrik was awarded the captaincy at the beginning of the 2010-11 season, which also saw Daniel become appointed as an alternate captain. Both have served in their capacities since.
  • The Sedins have been an instrumental part of Vancouver's 2010-11 and 2011-12 President's Trophy-winning squads (as the NHL team with the most points in the season);
  • 2011 has also seen the Canucks take their third Western Conference title/Campbell Bowl and consequent third trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. (Seriously, Boston, why did you have to ruin that one?)
  • They have helped their country, Sweden, to an Olympic gold medal in 2006 (in Turin) and a World Championship gold medal in 2013 on home ice (I'm pretty sure Lola just stole one of their gold helmets).
  • Across their NHL careers, they have amassed 633 combined goals (240 for Henrik, 393 for Daniel),
  • 1,478 combined assists (830 for Henrik, 648 for Daniel), and
  • 2,111 combined points -- 1,070 for Henrik, 1,041 for Daniel. Their point totals have established the duo as the two highest scoring leaders in Canucks franchise history.
But aside from being great players, Henrik and Daniel are known for being all-around great people and generous contributors to their community. Their contributions are best exemplified by their extensive work with various charities and youth -- from visits to kids in the BC Children's Hospital to their joint $1.5 million donation towards the building of the hospital's new facility, and a long list of many other efforts to improve the lives of youth and families spread out over the years. Simply put, the city of Vancouver knows the Sedins for their leadership and initiative on and off the ice.

(There's a reason Henrik was awarded the King Clancy Memorial Trophy last year; this year has the 'Nucks nominate both brothers for the award.)

Lana and Lola's placement in this picture goes beyond both them and the Sedins being twins; it is also meant to highlight the kind of mark they've made in the community and thank them for their work.

To Henrik and Daniel Sedin, if you ever happen to see this, you two have left a lasting legacy on the Canucks and the city of Vancouver.
Thank you for everything you've done for the team and the community.

Behind the Scenes:

Once again, this was another Wacom tablet picture, with all the sketching, colouring, and other effects done on Photoshop.

The original concept was to have the Canucks jersey-wearing Lana and the Team Sweden-representing Lola over the Sedins' heads -- but as Lana shows, it was kind of hard to figure out how to do this logically. (Well, you know... cartoons.) Lana's pose is a remnant of this; Lola's hugging, however, was harder to figure out in the same way. Ultimately, I just relented and went for a slightly edited route -- resulting in the picture shown above.

The background is a mish-mash of a blurry Swedish flag and the blue-white-green striping of the Canucks jerseys, all set to patterns (such as leaves and round-shaped... objects) and a chaos of hard-to-read Sedin-related stats. I had to make a quick edit here since the Sedins racked up a few more points in the last bit of the season; thus, this pic slightly differs from the original Instagram post earlier this month.

(I'll let you figure out where that is.)

There could be some minor tweaks, such as darkening the lines and editing some of the anatomy (the orcas on the jerseys could also use a bit of a touch-up). But overall, it's a decent piece.
