Description Old is gold.

I have been fond of this kind of dress for quite a time. It's originally worn in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and parts of Saudi Arabia. It's called "Thoub Al Nshel - ثوب النشل".
What's so special about it is the beautiful golden embroidery of flowers and ornaments around the neckline and sleeves.

Using a sketch pad/drawing cartridge was a big waste. The colors appeared very sharp and hardly blended, as if I was using waxy crayons (that\'s when I only used my colored pencils). Luckily, I've scanned the drawing before coloring it, just in case. So what I did is color it again in a simple A4 copy paper.
Excuse the details, they look totally messed up >.<

Tips and suggestions are always welcomed

the shading on hair,,, where the pony starts... is giving a good depth..... as compared to the flat outfit.

I really like this one. You went with soft colours again which work nicely together, especially the magenta and light green in the back. The slightly odd anatomy makes it more stylized and I think you did a great job on the hair and dress ornaments. Keep going

I can't be more thankful for your conceptual comments, stating every weak and strong point about my deviations.
Choosing textures and color palettes indeed change the impression of a drawing. As for the dress' ornamentation, I could have done a better job. Filling in delicate and small ornaments is quite a challenge, especially if the drawing space was limited (A4 sized paper). So I just drew the flowers making them clear enough to be noticed.
Thank you, again. And I'm really glad that you liked it

You're most welcome. Personally I love playing around with colours. As for the details, I think they are fairly good considering you used A4 paper. I usually go for A3 or even A2 size if I really want to do heavy details. Of course digitally the job is a little easier as you can zoom in and resize as you like. Anyways, I'll look forward to more of your stuff

I might consider using larger sizes of paper in future for detailed works.
Yes, digital media gives you a neater outcome, but it would never replace what traditional media has to offer.
Thank you again, hope you would stumble upon my gallery in some other time ^^

Actually I agree, traditional often has more personality, though I do love both and try to trade techniques between the two
