Virulent

WARNING: Sensitive topics

Daughter of Moon Dancer and an unknown stallion, a product of a drunken night after a fight with her parents.
In my universe, Moon Dancer never did accept friendship again, she was the only child of two wealthy scholars, born into old money, expected to follow in their footsteps and eventually marry for money.  Moon Dancer's parents never indulged their child in comforts such as the average parent would, they were aloof, and stuck the young filly with nannies and tutors.  The isolation was too much for the filly, and she felt relived when she was sent to Celestia's school.  Maybe she could escape the empty and dusty home and find friendship.  But her parent's grip didn't end when she left home, it grew stronger, and Moon Dancer felt the pressure.  Magic came hard to her, but she tried, it made her want to wither away when her parent's stared with their disapproving glances and muttered disgust.  Of course she would feel jealous when a talented lavender filly came on the top of the class.  Of course she would grow a deep hatred and envy when the lavender filly's parents would come proud of her, and shower her in affection.  Moon Dancer studied harder, with many sleepless nights in her future.

The pressure broke Moon Dancer.  She lost her magic.  Her parents scorned her, and kicked her out of their home.  Moon Dancer continued her schooling, eventually going to collage, she needed to get an education so she could get a job to support herself.  But she also turned to alcohol, and often came home to empty shot cups on the ground, but she felt a strange warmth from the liquor.  After a bad test, she spent too long at the bar, and met a stallion that made her fell lighter than air, and, happy?  A fevered night with him left her pregnant, and he disappeared.

She didn't get rid of the baby, she was lonely, and she hoped where she failed she could carry on in her foal.  One rainy and humid summer day, her filly was born.  And she couldn't help but feel the bitterness and envy come back.  She named her filly Virulent.  A bitter disease on her life.
