Description
This is something I've had floating around in the back of my mind for a few years now - forming part of a world I tend to call Lyridia. I have, in the past, tried to do some work towards bringing this together into some sort of project on DA, but for a multitude of reasons never actually made it into any cohesive project.

This is Oromis, my Chenoan stallion, taking a trek through an area known as the Amethyst forest. A description of the area can be found below:

This forest features massive ancient trees - these trees dwarf even the tallest of horses, and are rumoured to be thousands of years old. It would take at least 8 horses standing nose to tail to fully surround an average tree.

During early spring the leaves grow as delicate shades of pink and pale green, but deepen through lavender as summer sets in, before darkening to a rich amethyst shade for late summer and autumn. These trees grow in harmony with moss tendrils, which grow wrapped around the branches. Some may shed during late autumn with the leaves, however the majority will continue to grow with the trees for many years. The moss is used as homes for tiny firefly-like creatures, which glimmer both day and night, and hide within the tendrils to hibernate over winter.
