Since being in the Hideout Selene has changed quite a bit. While she’s still very attentive and clever as before, she’s not easily annoyed now and doesn’t avoid being around others, though she does prefer having time to herself. She’s often quite friendly but a bit sassy, and is very patient with younger mon. She tries to be kind and caring with kids as she never wants any child to grow up how she did and finds herself being instantly protective of any younger mon she comes into contact with. She’s very good for talking to when you need advice or simply just someone to listen.
---
Attentive: Often pays very close attention to things, is rarely the type to be easily distracted.
Thoughtful: She puts the needs of others above her own, being sure to do things to help others if they clearly need it.
Clever: Selene is often quick to understand information and apply ideas based on it.
Withdrawn: Selene still isn't very used to being around large groups of other pokemon and so unless she's needed for something she tends to keep to herself or her family. Large crowds stress her out.
Hasty: She's known to not think things through when she's very stressed, which can lead to her rushing through things. Normally though she's very thoughtful and patient.
Ill-Tempered: While not as bad as when she first joined the hideout, pushing her enough can cause Selene to get worked up and annoyed. She lashes out less now though, at most others will get an eye roll or small hiss if they've angered her.
Bio:
(small note for manipulation, bad parents, poisoning, death, and relationships going sour)
Selene was born as an Eevee Skitty hybrid in a small forest near the old hideout, she's been a wild feral mon all her life. Her mother was an Espeon while her father was a former housepet Skitty who'd run away from his home to be with his mate. She also had a couple of siblings, both little brothers! Each were Eevees. She evolved into an Umbreon hybrid when she was a teenager.
Her parents had seemingly rushed in too quick with being together and starting a family and while neither were terrible together, it was clear that her father hadn't really thought through running off from home. But he wasn't one to just up and leave his partner to raise their kits alone no matter his regrets about rushing into it. Despite not feeling ready for kits of his own Selene's father did a wonderful job at being a parent. He was gentle and caring and did everything he could to support his mate and children.
In time though he went missing, no one really sure what happened. Her mother, always the type to assume the worst from others, decided he'd just gotten tired of them and left. Selene and her brothers however, wondered if he'd been hurt by another pokemon, they weren't the only ones around and others constantly needed territory. A spat over land wasn't uncommon for them. But they never saw him again and eventually they had to stop looking for him. They just didn't have the time to look after themselves and worry about their father. But Selene promised herself she'd figure out where he went one day.
---
Soon in a nearby cave came to live a Mightyena and her adopted son Everest. Selene and he met when they were both still young and became fast friends! They were best friends in no time and as they grew into teens they formed crushes and into young adulthood they fell for each other, eventually dating.
Selene adored Everest more than anything and she was happy to let things stay as they were. His mother was a lovely pokemon and she often found herself enjoying their company more than her own family. By the time she was an adult and her brothers were nearly adults themselves their mother had manipulated all of her children, but her sons the most. She was no stranger to guilt tripping her children and she made use of this when her daughter came to her with news that she was thinking of asking Everest to be her mate, that she wanted to start a family with him.
Her mother accused her of not caring about their family anymore, asking why she was willing to abandon them for Everest. She refused to listen when Selene said she'd never do that, and in time convinced her to drop Everest. Spun a sob story to her children about how they needed the big cave Everest and his mother resided in, they wouldn't be safe without a bigger home. Really they were fine, their home in a small hallowed den dug under a tree was safe and big enough for the four of them. But Selene and her brothers trusted their mothers judgment.
Telling Selene that they had to be rid of Everest and his mother as soon as possible, there had to be no other way, her mother convinced her to start leaving small traces of poisonous fruit in the Mightyena's food. When she fell ill it happened so fast, and when she passed it broke Everest's heart. Not to mention the two had bickered often about Selene and her family, his mother fearing in the back of her mind that something was wrong and they couldn't be trusted.
Feeling guilty Selene confessed to Everest what they'd done, what she had done. Understandably angry Everest dropped everything and stormed out, leaving behind his home and Selene as soon as he properly buried his mother. Of course her mother moved them in instantly had them destroy the makeshift grave Everest had made for his mother.

Over time Selene started to see through her mother and began going against her. Her mother had one of her brothers lead a poacher near their territory and when they captured Selene, her family sat there and let her be taken away. The poacher traveled for a while on a small cart they owned, Selene and a few others being kept in small cages in the back. After a few days of being trapped there a team of hideout recruits showed up when the poacher was sleeping and broke the captured mon out.
Everest, along with his new partner Runt was among them. He was the one to open her cage and the two of them stared in silence at each other for a moment when they recognized each other. The first thought that Selene had stumbled out of her in a whisper, "Why are you helping me?"
His answer came out flat and quiet. "Simple. I don't enjoy seeing other pokemon suffer like you do. Now get out of here, I'm not going to help you a second time." No where else to go she trailed behind the recruits, eventually joining the hideout. She wanted to be better than she had been for so long, and she thought that maybe she could work on herself there. And just maybe, she could work up the courage to apologize to Everest for everything she had taken from him.

After being in the hideout a bit, she finds a friend in Zucker and Co, both bonding over shared/understood feelings of being out of place and struggling to fit in. While she's still rather withdrawn and keeps to herself more often than not, Selene is also more actively interacting with other recruits and offering to help when needed, and is a bit less irritable. Though she still avoid's Everest whenever she can. She's still not used to living indoors after being a wild forest mon all her life, and sometimes it's not uncommon to find her having fallen asleep in the garden.
