Description With the DCU Superman not only cast, but cast with the my fancast David Corenswet (well, second to Brandon Routh returning to the role. But between that and Pattinson not being the DCU Batman, clearly I can't get everything I want), I've been thinking about the rest of the trinity. I currently have a top four for Wonder Woman and commissioned Luis47 to make the top two: Claudia Doumit and May Calamawy. I wondered if seeing these done would make me lean one way. It has not, they both look great for the role.

I feel Doumit and Calamawy would be equally perfect for the role, but I imagine they'd highlight different aspects of the character. Of the two, I feel May Calamawy would carry more chaotic good vibes, similar to the Wonder Woman of the Justice League animated series and The New Frontier animated movie. I see Calamawy's Diana as one who has not yet taken on the role of Themyscira's emissary or has done so recently and gives it less time and consideration compared to her role as a superhero and Amazon warrior-princess. Like Doumit, I think Calamawy's Wonder Woman, like pretty much any great Wonder Woman portrayal, would possess the Christopher Reeve Superman and Chris Evans Captain America warmth, kindness, and sincerity of purpose. However, she would be more likely to take up arms and fight in the name of friends, her values, and the downtrodden.

It's somewhat reductive, but I think to summarize how I see the two portrayals, Doumit's Wonder Woman would embody the quote “We have a saying, my people. Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it” and Calamawy's would embody "If you need to stop an asteroid, you call Superman. If you need to solve a mystery, you call Batman. But if you need to end a war, you call Wonder Woman.”
