The best Example I can think of right now, is MJ.Before MJ died, no one what so ever in my year cared about his music, and all thy thought of him as, was a psychotic child-abuser. Suddenly, He dies, and then they were obsessed with listening to his music, whether they liked it or not.
That, is what I call a fake fan. REAL fans liked the guy, BEFORE they died.

My dislike/like does not depend on living status. If I see one more piece of Robin Williams 'tribute' art I'm going to go mad because honestly, if you like him so much do a tribute for him while he's actually alive and worst of all, most of these people dpn't even really give a shit they're just jumping on the bandwagon cause 'OMG he iz ded.'
And all the supermarkets in my country apparently had all Robin Williams films on sale after his death, I mean what is with that?
No hate intended for Robin Williams here, I am just using him as an example. In honesty, before someone told me who he was I didn't even know who he was and it wasn't until someone told me he was the genie in Aladdin that I actually remotely cared. No offence, no hate, but no "OMG MUST FANGIRL THE DEAD" either.
I recently heard of the death of Walt Disney's daughter Diane though, and that saddened me, even though I've only known of her and not seen anything of her. I guess because she is part of the legacy of Disney.

MJs music is good, I do think older rock stars and stuff have made some pretty good music, being born in the late 90s, I didn't know about many of them, but I do sometimes look into their lives, anything I can find on them, really. Just to see what they were like.

Am I not a real Beatles fan because John died before I was born? Sure George Harrison died in 2001, but I was 5 years old. I got into the Beatles in 2010, does that make me not a 'real' fan. I don't understand your mentality on this.

Admittedly, I still don't like most of Michael Jackson's music - just "Thriller" and "Beat It" - but I can see how this would be annoying for anyone who likes any band/musician that dies, and immediately gains a cult-ish following, before they died.
