Description I kind of like this clouded leopard. A lot.

EDIT(07-02-05): Corrected some colors, upsized the image, and added a border.

That they are. I have to say, this particular clouded leopard is especially beautiful, at least to me. Some others that I've seen have a more feral look to them, but this guy is just too cute. Most of my best clouded leopard shots are of this same guy, and I don't think it's any coincidence.

Thank you very much. Try as I might, I haven't been able to reproduce another shot quite like this. I was really lucky to get it.

hey yo, good picture, very good, buuuuuuut, i would not suggest posting it, or any of the pictures you value for arts sake, at such a large size, makes it much much easier and more attractive to rip

Yeah, I know it's a problem, and it's constantly on my mind, but right now I've decided I'm not going to be overly protective of my pictures. If someone wants to steal my pictures, they're going to do it regardless of what preventive measures I take. (Seriously, I even saw someone steal a professional picture once off of Webshots and repost it to the web without removing the "Webshots" watermark in the lower-right corner) And I'm trying hard to believe in the goodness of the average person in light of the people out there with sticky hands.

Now if I get a print account, that might be a different story. I don't want people downloading my picture and taking it somewhere else to get a print of it at a price lower than my own, so I'll have to resumbit smaller them in that case. But for now, I'll try not to "punish the many for the mistakes of the few." Unless it starts getting bad in the future. Who knows, maybe I'll start putting that annoying watermark right in the middle of my pictures so that there's no doubt who they belong to. That would be fun. Thanks for your concern.

This is a beautiful shot. He looks so contemplative sitting there like that with such an intense gaze. Beautiful color and lighting...lucky you for being there at the right time. Awesome shot.

Thank you. I had actually been waiting for around fifteen minutes at the exhibit before this guy woke up and posed like this. So, despite the title of the picture, he was waking up at this point, not going to sleep.

Yeah, I have a habit of doing that. I'm very good at ruining the effect. I just can't resist telling the story behind the picture.

That's beautiful....very nice composition. The lighting and colours are great too - they do create quite a relaxing feel! Love the leopard's expression and the way he's looking ahead like that. Great shot!

great shot!
the lighting is great, and the leopard is beautiful.
my one suggestion is to crop in slightly tighter on the left,
not all the way to the leopard's nose, but just a little closer.
just an idea, i still think it's a great shot either way...
good job!

Yeah, I try to give direction to my pictures by offsetting the subject, and I tend to overdo it a bit... Usually I don't crop pictures, though, unless my lens wasn't long enough to get as close to the subject as I would like. Thanks for the comment.
