Description
This was a really interesting experiment... so in my latest art pieces I have just wanted to draw the characters, little care for the background or setting. But today I sat down and made myself draw a background. 2 hrs+ of just background(aka fiddling with the grass)
and then at the end I spent maybe 30 minutes drawing in Moran. While yes, that’s a small character in relationship to the painting size(didn’t have to render him a whole lot) I realized what I need to work on! That’s the time I need to allot for each piece. Unlimited time or majority of time towards the background, and the horse or character can be the speedpaint because that is what I’m most comfortable and proficient at. I mean just look back at like the last 4 art pieces, all I’d done was draw a character I liked and then roughed in a background last.... huge difference to today, I’d say!!
side note, this again was art practice but At the end this looked a lot like the story of where Moran started out, alone and scaling great big hills!! That was a fun coincidence
