The Union Pacific Railroad's 47 EMD DDA40X Centennials have held the records of longest and strongest diesel locomotive (almost 100 feet and 6600 horsepower) since 1969. No. 6915 had already racked up 650,000 miles on the odometer when it was retired in 1984 at fifteen years old and donated to the Los Angeles County Fairground's Rail Giants Train Museum.
