For my 24,000th picture in what is getting close to 12 years on DeviantArt, here is LNER 4468 Mallard, the streamlined Gresley Pacific that set the steam locomotive speed record of 126 miles per hour in 1938, in the Great Hall of the National Railway Museum. Out of the various times I have seen Mallard at the NRM in York, England, September 2018 was when I could take my best look at her.Related content

Stunning machine and one that I feel deserves a place back on the main line roster. Such a beautiful and iconic machine. Might not have worked on this but so glad to have had the chance to fire Union of South Africa a few times. Great machines
