Nope, your eyes are not deceiving you . That is Brooklyn with his arm around his beloved mate Elisa, as the two exchange loving looks to each other they are holding the egg containing their un-hatched daughter, Anika while their twins Jacen and Clara stand proudly by their sides. They are about to return from the 40-year long Timedancing journey. This was a commission picture done for me by the very talented

Alongside our own universe exists other realities, worlds similar to our own but different in many ways. For every action or decision made in one, the alternate one is lived out in another. For these actions can send certain people or gargoyles down different paths for a different plot, or a different fate.

In a Gargoyle Fanfiction I am writing that takes place in an alternate universe there are many interesting plot twists to this story-line as well as new characters and never-before-seen romantic pairings. After being awakened by Xanatos and Demona, the gargoyles meet Elisa although this time it would be Brooklyn who swooped down to save her instead of Goliath therefore setting the stones in place for their relationship. But in this universe, they not only gain an alley through Elisa but also with one of Xanatos’s business rivals, and two who are close friends with Elisa’s family. But I don’t want to give too much away before it’s done so for right now here is a little piece to enjoy:

SPOILERS:

"Oh, no!" shouted Dinah as Lexington exclaimed "What the HELL!" at the sight of the empty rooftop where there friends had been before the burst of fiery energy.

"Stwaiopt!" was what Aura heard as she approached the spot where Brooklyn and Elisa had been standing.
"Relax, we're safe," she answered as she reached out in front of herself.

"What happened?" asked Dinah as she stepped closer. "Why did-- How could Elisa just throw herself into a fireball like that?"

"Heh," snorted Lexington from Aura's other side. "As if I wouldn't have done exactly the same thing for you, Dee.’Love makes fools of us all'. Aura?"

"The Phoenix Gate operated on it's own; took them away. They could be anywhere, anywhen, now."
Neither of them knew what to say to that. It was almost a minute later when Lexington spoke again: "We have to go back and tell the Clan what's happened."

It took a good bit of arm-twisting before Lexington persuaded Aura to go back with him and Dinah to update the Clan. They arrived about half an hour later and were immediately met by Owen.

"Owen, listen," started in Lexington as soon as his feet hit the pavestones, "Brooklyn and Elisa are gone! We need to speak with Goliath, do you know where he is?"

"...Actually, yes; I do. He's in the Great Hall, talking with Brooklyn and Elisa."

"What!?!" shouted all three of the new arrivals before Lexington and Dinah took off into the castle. Aura followed them with her eyes for a moment before looking at Mr. Burnett. "They're back already? The gate only threw them across the city?"

"Already is a relative term Aura, when dealing with the Phoenix Gate. Shall we?" Aura walked in as Owen directed and had time enough to digest his statement that the sight of the returned couple didn't stun her as much as it did the rest of their friends.
