Huh. Could of fooled me. There's a couple of ways to deal with the Tau.
1st: Get Cypher, put him on the Tau capital, get him to troll the Dark Angels. This should get those legion building, closet heretics riled up. In theory this should get them and their successor chapters on an anti-Tau/Cypher crusade.
2nd: Steal from Tryzan, and put his stuff on the Tau capital.

The Tau are weak at CQC, but when you've got a pulse rifle there's no reason anybody should get close enough to challenge you to a fight.

i once left one squad of honnor guard in a crater as an outpost/guard group, i came back 20 minutes later and found 4 dead squads of space marines 1 and a half dead rinos and dying grey knights.... only one had died
