After reading my big sister's latest fanfic, I just had to go draw a baby Gaara! You can find the fanfic here: [link] (It's very good! Read!)...It's been a while since I've done anything this dark (I got to play with my sand and blood brushes! Yay! ...I think), it certainly made a change from my usual fanart. I think the hardest thing about this picture was finding the right balance between scary and cute; the last thing I wanted to do was a "Baby" picture.

Really like all the sand pouring into the cradle/cot/bed/thing and the subtle contrast of blood, and you DID manage to combine scary with cute, since Gaara is an adorable baby!!!

This is a haunting and beautiful picture. I especially like the composition, how the baby Gaara is highlighted, yet how the eye is drawn to the sand arms coming around the sides. Really excellent.
